Elaine Power, LMFT
Elaine Power (she/they) is a non-binary, LGBTQ+ affirming trauma therapist and expert in the field.

Mx. Power founded the Trauma Healing Center in 2021 in response to a growing need for focused, effective trauma treatment, particularly in the field of complex trauma and dissociation.

She is incredibly passionate about EMDR and its capacity to metabolize trauma in the body. Talk therapy's got nothing on this! They have dived deeply into the field, pursuing extensive training in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociative disorders.

A computer scientist in a former life, Elaine enjoys exploring the similarities between our brains and computers: the brain is also composed of concrete parts or “hardware” as well as vast networks of

neurological “software.” And like writing code, the neurological software of the brain can be updated and rewritten for more effective and healthy functioning.

They delight in bridging the gap between left-brain and right-brain: "masculine" qualities like concrete neuroscience, analysis, and data; and "feminine" qualities like intuition, embodiment, and spirituality.

To continue their education, in 2024 Mx. Power completed a 2-year ordination program at the Chaplaincy Institute Interfaith Seminary. Their mission: "Heal and transform the world." This work allows her to seamlessly integrate spiritual resources into sessions, using the client's own language and belief systems. As a dear mentor often says, "Powerful dark needs powerful light." Doing deep trauma work requires the most powerful resources we can get, and tapping into the client's own sources of meaning and belonging helps facilitate profound healing.

Mx. Power is honored to walk with clients on their journey toward health and flourishing. If you're interested in working together, don't be shy-- request a free 15-minute consultation now and you can chat together and see if it feels like a good fit.
